Give More. Become More.
Connecting hosts and guests across the world to share local tips and inspiring stories. This has always been our mission. And it is something that, until now, we’ve only showcased online. Enter Pineapple. As Airbnb’s first print magazine, Pineapple is a physical leap from online content to a tangible collection of our community’s stories …
‘And the goal of all of this? That’s simple: Pineapple was made to connect and to inspire. It’s meant be rolled up and stuffed into backpacks, to be flipped through on trains and planes, pages bookmarked. It should be passed along from host to traveler, stranger to friend’.
When reading articles about airbnbs new magazine, there was mixed reviews on their intent. The articles consist of anecdotes, interviews, adventures from 3 members of this community in three cities around the world London, Seoul, and San Francisco. However it does not allow the guests to show their experiences using airbnb but just the ’incredible cast of characters who have shaped their cultural landscapes’. So you could argue how can people trust airbnb content?
From Airbnb to Lyft to Tinder, the sharing economy is rewiring the way we interact with each other.
Poster Research
Here I was looking into different methods of presenting the
poster to the audience. In this example below, there is a interactive poster which transfers the ink off the paper on to your hands.
The text slowly disappears off the paper and therefore can not
be seen again. I found this design very interesting and quirky and it would work well for the concept I am looking at for my project.
However if I were to use a method like this in my design, the poster would be a one off piece and could not be easily mass produced. Also it would not be possible to cerate in the two week bracket we have on this project. Although I would like to experiment with different contemporary methods like this when it is a more appropriate project.
